My words

My words keeps the words you save on 404meanings in this browser, counts the days in a row you collect the word of the day or do the recall, and gives you a 30-second recall on your words once a day. Nothing is sent anywhere and there is no account: the list lives on this device, and clearing this site's data in your browser clears it.

How it works

  1. Save a word. Every entry has a Save button beside Cite and Share, and so does the word of the day on the homepage. Saved words appear here, newest first.
  2. Come back each day. Your streak goes up by one on each day you save the word of the day or finish the recall. Miss a day and it starts again at one; your best run is kept.
  3. Thirty seconds of recall. Once you have saved three words, you get up to five quick questions: a definition to match to its word, or a word to match to its definition. Turn the clock off if you would rather take your time.
  4. Every streak in one place. My 404 shows this streak together with any other part of the site that keeps one.
